CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support
This qualification reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason. Work involves using discretion and judgement in relation to individual support as well as taking responsibility for own outputs.
Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support.
Units of Competency:
15 units of competency - 9 core units, 6 elective units.
+ 4 additional units of competency to achieve Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) + Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)

Specialisations:
There are two specialisations available for the Certificate III in Individual Support, and is subject to the electives chosen according to packaging rules. Specialisations include:

The selection of appropriate common elective units may also result in two specialisations (Ageing) as a dual qualification.
RAPAD Skilling also offers the option to complete a training workshop (additional cost) to obtain 4 units from the disability specialisation. Individuals that undertake the dual specialisation plus additional disability units will obtain 2 Statements of Attainment and will have certification for all specialisations of Individual Support.
What is the difference between specialisations?

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL): This qualification is available for partial or full RPL. Your application for RPL must be submitted prior to commencing study.
Requirements: All participants are required to provide identification, preferably with a photo (e.g. driver's licence, firearms licence, passport). You must also bring your Unique Student Identifier (USI). We are unable to generate your certification without this. If you do not have a USI, please create one at https://www.usi.gov.au/students/create-your-usi
There are no pre-requisites for this qualification, however some imported units may have specific pre-requisites.
Learning Support: If you feel as though you will need some additional learning support to complete this course, please provide details when making your booking. All participants are required to complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment prior to beginning course.

Delivery
Face-to-face training, online, Zoom virtual classrooms, workplace and self-paced individual study.
Work Placement
120 hours work placement is compulsory to complete this qualification.

Certificate 3 Guarantee
Student co-contribution fees:
Concessional: $50.00/unit x 13 = $650.00
Non-Concessional: $100.00/unit x 13 = $1300.00
User Choice approved (traineeship). A student contribution fee applies. This fee is charged at $1.60 per nominal hour. Exemptions may apply if the student is school-based or under 25 years of age.
If not eligible for funding:
Full Fee: $2,826.00
Certification
On successful completion of all training and assessment, learners will receive a Certificate of Achievement and a Record of Results for CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support. Depending on elective units chosen, learners may achieve a specialisation award, being:
